My kids are crazy. If the 20 minute long tantrum that began for no fathomable reason and ends for no fathomable reason, with a rapid shift from crying to hysterical giggling isn’t proof enough, then the following story should prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
After a full day of school the kids had their swimming lessons. While there a friend (my trainer actually!) stopped by with a special treat for the kids: rock candy lollipops. While the plan was to save them for after dinner there was another unfathomable tantrum and the rock candy needed to be used as a bribe for Andy (on the flip side Evelyn was behaving so well that she got her lollipop too!).
Afterward, we came home and I fed the kids dinner. Evelyn then asked for dessert to which I replied, “but you ate that ‘special lollipop’ I don’t think you should have another sweet.” God bless this child, she replies to me, “how about I eat something healthy for dessert? How about a banana?” My desperate appreciation that she was so willing to accept my edict resulted in my offer to make something special for her out of that banana: I offered to fry it in butter and brown sugar.
Yep, butter and brown sugar. It just doesn’t get any better than that. When I had finished cooking it up (which took literally 3 minutes total) I took a quick bite. Oh. My. God. It was. To. Die. For.
Punch line: Neither of those crazy kids would eat it.
I think you’re right…anyone who would pass up those fried bananas is crazy! And speaking of crazy…I have a strong desire to pour some rum on those and light them on fire (crazy because it’s a photo).
Too funny. A good laugh to start the day.
Sounds like it would be divine over vanilla ice cream!
I think I would be pretty popular if I made this for my boys 🙂 YUMMY! There is nothing better than butter and brown sugar!
